Most Popular Thickness

12 Mil DrySpace™

The 12 Mil DrySpaceis by far our most popular crawl space vapor barrier due to the all around versatility for light storage and superior moisture protection. The SilverBack DrySpace™ vapor barrier is the only crawl space vapor barrier on the market that is actual thickness measured at the plastic and not at the thread.

Spray Foam Insulation

Where NOT to use it -

Closed cell spray foam is a great product for sealing out every little air leak. But, it will hinder your ability to inspect the structure if it is installed in the rim (band) joist area of the crawl space. This issue will come into play when selling a home or getting a termite inspection.

Mold and Mildew

Quick Facts -

  • Mold can only be identified under a microscope
  • There are more than 100,000 different kinds of Mold
  • Bleach is NOT recommended to kill Mold on porous surfaces like wood

20 Mil SilverBack

20 Mil reinforced Crawl Space Vapor Barrier

Our DrySpacebrand crawl space vapor barrier has a new look and comes in three new sizes! The front of the DrySpace is still white but the back is now Silver. As always our vapor barriers are true thickness, so our 20 Mil measures 20 Mil at the barrier not the string reinforcement.

Due to the increased availability of low quality "white" plastic from China being sold as a crawl space vapor barrier we have decided to change how our American Made DrySpace vapor barriers looks. You still get the absolute best quality and performance as well as the technical support you need to install our products and answer your questions.

The 20 Mil SilverBack DrySpace is a perfect choice for high traffic areas or for homes that require additional storage in the crawl space. This product is reinforced with a polyester thread for additional tear strength. Use the 20 Mil SilverBack on the floor and the 12 Mil SilverBack on the walls to keep the costs inside the budget.

“Going into this process the whole encapsulation can be very confusing but your technicians helped me to sort through it. Then they helped me put together a comprehensive product order. The product was delivered on time, in good shape and worked as advertised.”

All of the DrySpace vapor barriers are made from real, virgin polyethylene. We use the newest generation technology in making our vapor barrier to insure the best performance and that it will last a life time. Other vapor barriers on the market described by companies as a non-woven "material" or fabric are made from  polypropylene, which is a lower grade plastic than polyethylene. Polypropylene requires a number of additives in order to stabilize the plastic from early deterioration.
